About me

I am Zehava Khalfa, an Israeli writer, poet, and researcher based here in Berlin. My life’s work is dedicated to exploring and bringing to light the often-overlooked history and cultural richness of Mizrahi Jews—the communities with heritage spanning the Middle East and North Africa. I strive to use my platform to foster meaningful dialogue and mutual respect across cultural boundaries.

As an author, I am a passionate poet and writer, with my work appearing in publications such as Haaretz and various literary journals.

My academic foundation is built on advanced degrees (M.A. and M.Sc.) from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, where I focused on Genetics and Middle East Politics. I also completed significant research, submitting my doctoral thesis on the intricate topic of Israeli settlement policy during the Gaza Strip withdrawal to the University of Potsdam.
